John Blair McCracken

John, a shareholder who has been with the firm since 1970, concentrates his practice in business and real estate law, and estate planning with an emphasis on family corporations.  John is the author of chapters in The Florida Bar’s works on corporate and business law entitled Florida Basic Corporate Practice (The Florida Bar, 1977) and Florida Small Business Practice (The Florida Bar, 1986), relating to the formation and operation of family corporations.

John is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the Bar of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and The Florida Bar.  He has been active in the Palm Beach County Bar Association and community affairs, serving in every elected position of the Palm Beach County Bar Association, including President.  Additionally, he served as the Circuit’s representative to the Board of Governors of the Young Lawyers’ Section of the Florida Bar for three terms, was twice named to a Florida Bar Grievance Committee and served as Chairman of such Committees during both terms.

John is active in the community and has served as:  President, the Palm Beach County Bar Association (1981 - 1982); Chair, Florida Bar Grievance Committee (2 terms); Chair, Board of Directors, Alzheimer's Community Care, Inc. (200-2005), Director (1998 - ); Chair, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Trust and Endowment Committees (1994 - ); President, Sailfish Club of Florida (2010 - ), Director (2004 - ); Board of Governors, Young Lawyers' Section of the Florida Bar (3 terms) (1972 - 1978); Commissioner and Vice-Chair, Port of Palm Beach District (1972 - 1974); Director, Vice-Chair, First Bank of the Palm Beaches (2006 - ); Member, Salvation Army Advisory Board (1978 - 1984); Member, The Board of Directors, Palm Beach Day School (1982 - 1986); Founding Director, Children's House of the Palm Beaches; Senior Warden of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (1990).
