Peter, a shareholder with the firm, represents individuals and
institutions in the prosecution and defense of complex trust and estate,
guardianship and commercial litigation matters. Peter has written and
lectured on such topics as will and trust contests, land trust litigation, the parol evidence
rule, removal to Federal Court and pre-judgment remedies.
Peter is a member of The Florida Bar’s
Rules of Judicial Administration Committee, and Probate
Litigation Committee; the Palm Beach County Bar’s Probate and
Guardianship Rules and Circuit Civil Practice Committees, and is a former
member of the Civil Procedure Rules Committee (Chair 2001-02), and
Probate Rules Committee (Chair 2006-07); and the Ad Hoc
Committee on Rules and Procedures for the U.S. District Court for the
Southern Dist. of Florida. Peter is past-Chair of the Board
of the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches and past-Director of the
Center for Children in Crisis. Peter

Practice
Highlights:

Represented seven
charitable organizations in a $100 million estate proceeding in
defending a claim which would have resulted in the charities
receiving no residuary distributions, and settling the claim so that
the charities received an amount exceeding $30 million, almost 95%
of the residue

Represented two siblings
as personal representatives of their father’s $25 million estate in
successfully defending an attack on the decedent’s will by his
surviving spouse, and obtaining a judgment finding the surviving
spouse guilty of undue influence and ordering the return of funds
misappropriated by her during the final months of the decedent’s
life.

Represented trustees in
successfully prosecuting a claim against a major brokerage firm for
the improper sale of $30 million in annuity contracts to an elderly
couple, receiving a jury award of over $7 million in compensatory
and punitive damages.
